SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In a significant move, the General Administration Department (GAD), Government of Jammu and Kashmir re-designated two Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government.
According to an official communique, Mr. Sarmad Hafeez has been designated as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services and Sports Department.
“Consequent upon promotion of Mr. Sarmad Hafeez, IAS (AGMUT:2009) to the Super Time Scale (Level-14 in the Pay Matrix), vide Order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, under endorsement No. 14016/24/2024.UTS-1 dated 01.01.2025, the officer is hereby designated as Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Youth Services & Sports Department w.e.f. 01.01.2025 i.e. date from which he assumed the charge of the post,” reads the communique.
In a similar communique, Mr. Mohammad Aijaz has been designated as Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
“Consequent upon promotion of Mr. Mohammad Aijaz, IAS (AGMUT:2012) to the selection Grade (Level-13 in the Pay Matrix), vide Order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, under endorsement No. 14016/24/2024.UTS-1 dated 01.01.2025, the officer is hereby designated as Secretary to the Government, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj w.e.f. 01.01.2025 i.e. date from which he assumed the charge of the post,” reads the communique. — (KIMS)
