IED blast in Kulgam: One armed personnel killed, three others injured

Srinagar (KIMS): An armed personnel was killed and three others were injured in an (IED) Improvised Explosive Device blast in Shamsipora area in Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Reports said, an (IED) Improvised Explosive Device was planted in school building at Subhanpora locality of Shamsipora in Kulgam district. The IED went off inside school in which four army personnel of an Road Opening Party (ROP) of 24RR (Rashtriya Rifles) were injured.

The school building was also damaged due to IED blast.

All the injured armed personnel were rushed to Army’s 92 base hospital in Srinagar for treatment among them one has succumbed to his injuries.

Meanwhile defence spokesperson Col. Rajesh Kalia said that militants lobbed a grenade on Army’s Road Opening Party during the sanitisation drill at around 10:15 am. (KIMS)
