IED detected, destroyed in Ganderbal

SRINAGAR — Security forces on Saturday detected and safely destroyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the explosive was found inside a bag placed along the roadside at Gulab Sheikh Mohalla near Kohestan Colony in Safapora area of the district.

Following the detection, the area was immediately cordoned off and vehicular movement suspended as a precautionary measure.

A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot, and the IED was destroyed without causing any harm, officials said. — (PTI)
