Inclement Weather: Srinagar-Jammu National Highway closed for vehicular movement

JAMMU (KIMS) — In view of the inclement weather conditions in Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities on Monday closed Srinagar-Jammu National Highway for vehicular movement.

According to Traffic Officials, the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been closed for vehicular movement due to mudslide at Mehad-Cafteria in Ramban and landslide at Tabela Chamalwass in Banihal.

The mudslide and landslide was caused by heavy rains in the Ramban district during last 24 hours.

The Officials advised people to avoid the journey on highway till the weather improves and the road is clear. They also advised people to ask Traffic Control Units (TCU) before starting their journey.

The other major highways in Jammu and Kashmir including Bhaderwah-Chamba, Kishtwar-Sinthan-Anantnag, Mughal Road and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) Road are also closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation. — (KIMS)
