GUREZ (KIMS) — The Indian Army, dedicated to community welfare, in collaboration with the Borderless World Foundation, organized a Medical Camp for the residents of Chorwan village in Gurez.
This initiative targeted the weaker sections of society who have been affected by geographical isolation and a lack of medical facilities. It aimed to provide free medical care to the locals by addressing their basic health issues and dispensing essential healthcare services.
The Medical Camp, which included basic health check-ups, medical consultations, and the distribution of medicines by qualified professionals for the economically weaker sections of Gurez, was a remarkable initiative.
It spread positivity among the local populace, alleviated their burden of visiting distant medical institutes, and reduced their healthcare expenses.
This comprehensive approach by the Army and the NGO enhanced the overall health status and strengthened the immunity of the locals, thereby improving life expectancy in Chorwan Village.
A team composed of two doctors, nurses, and Battlefield Nursing Assistants examined and provided free healthcare services to 132 persons, including 50 men, 49 women, and 33 children.
The overwhelming response from the locals clearly indicates the urgent need for medical assistance in the area.
Beyond immediate healthcare, the Medical Camp strengthened the bond between the Indian Army and the local community of Chorwan Village.
It fostered deep trust, understanding, and cooperation, promoting civil-military harmony—a significant step towards bringing more stability to the border villages of Jammu & Kashmir.
The event exemplified the Indian Army’s outreach efforts and promoted an environment of care and support.
