Intermittent rain to continue in Jammu and Kashmir: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Rain lashed Jammu and Kashmir during the last 24 hours as the Meteorological Department on Thursday said intermittent rain will continue in the Union Territory till June 3, 2023.

Today, generally cloudy weather is expected. Intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning very likely at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, an official of the Meteorological Department said.

Intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning is expected at many places in Jammu and Kashmir on June 2, 2023. There is also possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds at few places during this period, he said.

Rain, thunderstorm at isolated to scattered places towards late afternoon/evening is expected in Jammu and Kashmir on June 3, 2023, he said.

He said, From June 4-10, 2023, Mainly dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir but a brief spell of shower/thunderstorm can’t be ruled out.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 11.4°C, Qazigund 10.8°C, Anantnag N/A, Kupwara 10.7°C, Kokernag 9.8°C, Gulmarg 4.6°C and Pahalgam 7.6°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Thursday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 18.5°C, Katra 15.8°C, Batote 11.0°C, Bhaderwah 10.7°C, Banihal 11.1°C, Udhampur N/A and Patnitop N/A as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 4.4°C and Kargil 9.8°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
