J&K govt reshuffles 22 officers, appoints seven new Deputy Commissioners

JAMMU — The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered the transfer and posting of 22 officers, including seven deputy commissioners, in a major administrative reshuffle.

According to an order issued late Friday by Commissioner-Secretary, General Administration Department M Raju, the reshuffle also includes three additional chief secretaries and five commissioner-secretaries, with immediate effect.

The deputy commissioner postings cover four districts in the Kashmir Valley — Kulgam, Anantnag, Budgam and Baramulla — and three in the Jammu region — Doda, Udhampur and Reasi.

As per the order, Ashwani Kumar has been posted as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Power Development, with additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Mining. Dr Ashish Chandra Verma has been appointed Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Tourism, along with additional charge of Agriculture Production Department, while Shailendra Kumar has been posted as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Finance.

M Raju will also hold additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Health and Medical Education, while R Alice Vaz has been posted as Commissioner-Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring, with additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Information.

Yasha Mudgal has been appointed Commissioner-Secretary, Cooperatives, and Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary Commissioner-Secretary, Youth Services and Sports.

Dr Piyush Singla, Secretary, Information Technology Department, will also hold the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Public Grievances.

Among other postings, Babila Rakwal has been appointed Commissioner-Secretary, Science and Technology; Anjali Sehrawat as Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission; and Nidhi Malik as Inspector General of Registration, J&K.

Owais Ahmed has been posted as Director, Skill Development, while Dr Sagar D Dattatray takes charge as Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir.

Among the newly posted Deputy Commissioners, Athar Aamir-ul-Shafi Khan has been assigned Budgam, Kumar Abhishek Reasi, Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat Anantnag, Minga Sherpa Udhampur, Syed Fakhruddin Hamid Baramulla, Shahzad Alam Kulgam and Krushen Lal Doda.

Akriti Sagar has been posted as Managing Director, National Health Mission J&K, while Harvinder Singh has been appointed Director, Employment, Jammu and Kashmir. — (PTI)
