Kashmiri Student Shines at National Entrepreneurship Event with 100% Natural Apple Jam and Dates Chutney Startup

SRINAGAR — In a proud moment for Kashmir, Raja Manzoor Tariq, a student of B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics from GNA University, Phagwara, has brought laurels to the valley by securing a position in the Top 100 startups at a prestigious national-level entrepreneurship competition.

The event, SBI Youth Ideathon, was organized by the State Bank of India in collaboration with Think Start-Up, IRCTC, MEPSC, and IIT Delhi. It witnessed the participation of over 45,000 teams from across India, showcasing innovative startup ideas focused on entrepreneurship, sustainability, and health.

Raja Manzoor Tariq was the only participant from Kashmir to achieve this remarkable feat. His startup idea — 100% Natural and Healthy Apple Jam and Dates Chutney — impressed the jury for its focus on health, nutrition, and chemical-free food products. The products are free from preservatives, artificial colors, and additives, making them a healthier alternative in the market.

Speaking about his journey, Raja said, “It was a proud moment to represent Kashmir on such a big platform. My aim is to promote healthy eating habits with natural products inspired by our local fruits and flavors. The response has been overwhelming, and I am preparing to launch these products in the market soon.”

This achievement has not only brought recognition to Raja’s innovative idea but has also inspired many young entrepreneurs from Kashmir to think creatively and contribute to the startup ecosystem of India.

The products — 100% Natural Apple Jam and Dates Chutney — are expected to hit the market soon under his startup brand, making a mark in the health food segment.
