SRINAGAR (KIMS) — A delegation of the Executive Committee of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), led by its President Javid Ahmad Tenga, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan for an introductory interaction with the newly elected office bearers and executive committee members.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the new team and extended his best wishes, assuring them of full support in addressing the issues faced by trade, commerce, and industry in Kashmir.
Key matters discussed included the suspension of cargo services by Air India to Gulf countries from Srinagar Airport, which has adversely affected exporters in meeting delivery commitments and led to substantial losses.
The KCCI delegation expressed gratitude to the LG for his continued support to the handicrafts sector, noting that the recognition and awards given to artisans and weavers have boosted the morale of the local industry.
The delegation also discussed tourism promotion initiatives, including a proposed roadshow in Mumbai and a meeting with Ambassadors in Delhi, aimed at enhancing Kashmir’s visibility as a tourist destination and addressing travel advisories issued by certain countries. — (KIMS)
