Kishtwar Police attach properties of 7 absconding militants operating from PoK, Pakistan

JAMMU (KIMS) — In a significant move against militant networks, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have attached the properties of seven absconding militants operating from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Pakistan in Kishtwar district.

The action, taken on Thursday, marks an intensified crackdown on militancy, demonstrating the commitment of J&K Police to dismantling militant infrastructure.

SSP Kishtwar, Javaid Iqbal Mir, stated, “The attachment of these properties follows meticulous investigation and intelligence inputs. FIR No. 272/2022, registered under sections 120-B, 121-A IPC, and 13, 18, 39 of UAPA at Police Station Kishtwar, laid the groundwork for this action. The investigation, led by Dy. SP Vishal Sharma, was presented before the Hon’ble NIA Special Court, Doda. Earlier, 36 militants from Kishtwar operating from PoK and Pakistan were declared absconders by the Hon’ble NIA Court, Doda. Among these, seven militants had their properties identified for attachment as part of legal proceedings.”

“Hon’ble Judge NIA Special Court, Doda, Smt. Sudesh Sharma, issued the attachment orders under Section 83 CrPC (Order No. 757-59/FTC/D/NIA dated 27-11-2024). Following this, SSP Kishtwar formed special teams, accompanied by Executive Magistrates, to execute the orders. The attached properties have been marked with signboards to inform the public,” he said.

“The properties of seven individuals that were attached include 9.5 marlas of land under Survey No. 139/1492/1118/1081/866 at Village Bhagna, Tehsil Nagseni, belonging to Shahnawaz Ahmed, R/O Chirool Padyarna, 10 marlas of land under Survey No. 936 min. at Village Keshwan, belonging to Bashir Ahmed Mughal, R/O Jugna Keshwan, 12.5 marlas of land under Survey No. 1321/887/6 min. at Village Keshwan, belonging to Gazi-ud-Din, R/O Jugna Balna Keshwan, 1 kanal and 5 marlas of land under Survey No. 966 at Village Keshwan, belonging to Sattar Din, R/O Jugna Keshwan, 1 kanal and 4 marlas of land under Survey No. 330/710/1155/513 at Village Lachdayaram, belonging to Imtiyaz Ahmed, R/O Banderna Kishtwar, 1 kanal and ½ marla of land under Survey No. 5586/5045/1098 min. at Village Kishtwar, belonging to Muzaffer Ahmed, R/O Semna Colony Zewar, Kishtwar, and 13 marlas and 205 sq.ft. of land under Survey No. 201 min. at Village Pochal, belonging to Javid Hussain Giri, R/O Kundali Pochal,” he said.

ADGP Jammu Zone, Shri Anand Jain, revealed that properties of 29 additional absconding terrorists have been identified, with their attachment process underway. He emphasized that these measures are part of a comprehensive strategy to dismantle the terror ecosystem, ensuring no resources are used to support anti-national activities.

Reaffirming the police’s commitment, ADGP Jammu warned against harboring anti-national elements or aiding terrorists, stating that severe consequences await such actions. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and assist law enforcement by reporting any suspicious activity.
