SRINAGAR (KIMS) — A local militant, affiliated with Al-Badr militant outfit was killed while a policeman was injured in an encounter in Hawoora village of Kulgam district in South Kashmir.
The encounter broke out between militants and Government forces during the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday.
Earlier, a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Hawoora village in Kulgam district following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
In the encounter, one local militant identified as Adil Majeed Lone, son of Abdul Majeed Lone, a resident of Akbarabad Hawoora, Kulgam. He was affiliated with Al-Badr militant outfit.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition including One Pistol with live ammunition and a Grenade were recovered from the site of encounter. — (KIMS)
