SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Monday forecast mainly clear weather in Jammu and Kashmir for the next 24 hours and widespread light to moderate rain from tomorrow till May 25.
The weather was mainly clear and dry in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.
Today, the weather will remain mainly clear in Jammu and Kashmir. However, a brief spell of rain and thunderstorm at few places towards late afternoon or evening can’t be ruled out, an official of the Meteorological Department said.
Widespread light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds is expected at few places in Jammu and Kashmir from May 23-25, he said. Few places over Kashmir region likely to receive heavy rainfall, he said.
Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 13.0°C, Qazigund 9.0°C, Anantnag 8.8°C, Kupwara 9.4°C, Kokernag 11.8°C, Gulmarg 9.5°C and Pahalgam 6.2°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Monday.
The winter capital Jammu recorded 25.1°C, Katra 21.6°C, Batote 16.2°C, Bhaderwah 11.8°C, Banihal 11.3°C, Udhampur 18.6°C and Patnitop 16.0°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.
In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 3.6°C and Kargil 7.3°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
