SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Police on Saturday said they have registered an FIR against a man for attempting to enter Srinagar International Airport using a forged air ticket.
Police said that during routine security checking at the airport’s drop gate, a person identified as Syed Khurshid Ahmad, son of Syed Mohammad Yaseen, a resident of Bugro, Khansahib area of Budgam was stopped for verification. Upon checking, his air ticket was found to be fake.
Police said airline staff immediately alerted the authorities, following which the accused was handed over to Police Post Humhama of Budgam Police and subsequently arrested.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly been duped by a travel agent who forged the ticket, police said.
Accordingly, FIR No. 343 under Sections 336(2) and 340(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station Budgam against the accused and the travel agent involved. Further investigation into the matter is underway, police added. — (KIMS)
