SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday arrested a man for killing his mother-in-law in Botakadal area of Srinagar.
Police said, A woman identified as Saleema Akhter, wife of Late Mohd Qasim, a resident of Gulshan Bagh, Botakadal was assaulted by her resident son-in-law which resulted in her on-spot death.
The accused son-in-law identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Salam Bhat originally hailing from Pattan, was evading the arrest and was arrested, they said.
Meanwhile, a FIR No 45/2023 u/s 302 IPC has been registered at Lal Bazar Police Station and further investigation has been taken up. — (KIMS)
