SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Monday visited the Iranian Cultural Centre and Embassy in New Delhi to offer condolences to the people of Iran following the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a post on X, the former chief minister said she paid tributes to Khamenei and expressed solidarity with the people of Iran in these difficult times.
Mufti said she also raised the issue of Kashmiri students stranded in Iran amid the ongoing crisis with the Iranian Ambassador to India, Dr Mohammad Fathali.
She visited the embassy along with Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, MLA from Budgam.
Mufti said they were touched by the warmth and graciousness of the embassy staff despite the sombre atmosphere and uncertainty caused by the escalating situation in the region.
