SRINAGAR — A militant was slain in a brief gunbattle between government forces and militants at Harwan Darbagh Dhara area of Srinagar city on Sunday.
Earlier, a Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) was launched by a joint team of government forces in the area following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
During operation, one militant was slain and he has been identified as Saifulla Alais Abu Khalid of LeT (Lashkar-e-Toiba) militant outfit.
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said, “wanted commander of LeT was killed in a Brief gunfight in Harwan area. Khalid resident of Karachi, Pakistan was active since 2016 and was active in Harwan-Dhara belt”.
