Mirwaiz condemns termination of three govt employees in J&K

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Saturday condemned the termination of three government employees in Jammu and Kashmir, calling it an “authoritarian” move.

In a post on X, Mirwaiz said: The termination of three more state employees in such an authoritarian manner is highly condemnable. Do the rulers want to remove all Kashmiri’s slowly and steadily from government services and render them jobless?”

“It is the duty of elected representatives to take up this issue urgently with the concerned authorities, as they have committed in their manifesto, and stop this harassment,” he said.

He also criticized the crackdown on Islamic literature, calling it “ridiculous.”

“Policing thought by seizing books is absurd, especially in an era where all information is accessible online,” he added. — (KIMS)
