One dead, two injured in Haridwar-Jammu bus accident; 35 hospitalised

LUDHIANA — One person was dead and two people were injured after a bus on its way from Haridwar to Jammu met with an accident.

Dr Harpreet Singh, SMO at the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana, providing details of the aftermath, stated, “I spoke to the bus driver and according to him, the second tyre of the bus was punctured and as he was changing the tyre, a truck came and hit the bus. Everything happened so readily in very little time.”

He mentioned that a total of 35 people were brought to the hospital, of which two people were referred to some other hospital.

“The accident was reported at around 3:30 am…A total of 35 people were brought to the hospital, out of which 1 person died on the spot while 2 patients have been referred to other hospitals. The bus driver has spinal injuries and the conductor also has some injuries. They are being treated here and their family members are reaching here. The rest of the patients with minor injuries were discharged after primary treatment.” More details are awaited. — (ANI)
