SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested a Patwari allegedly while accepting bribe.
As per an ACB handout, “Probing agency arrests Mohammad Abbas, Patwari Halqa Kewa, Qazigund District Kulgam for demanding and accepting bribe of ₹3,500 from complainant for providing of revenue extracts.”
They said “Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint, wherein the complainant alleged that Mohammad Abbas, Patwari Halqa Kewa, Qazigund District Kulgam is demanding bribe for providing revenue extracts.”
The complainant alleged that the accused Patwari has demanded Rs.3500/- from the complainant in lieu of providing Revenue Extracts viz Intikhaab for obtaining KCC Loan, it said.
It further said “Upon receiving the instant complaint prima facie offence U/S 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 was found made out.”
Consequently, case FIR No. 02/2022 was registered at Police Station ACB Anantnag. Mohammad Abbas, Patwari Halqa Kewa, Qazigund District Kulgam was arrested while demanding and accepting bribe of ₹ 3500/- from the complainant, adding that further investigations of the case is going on. — (KDC)
