PDP appoints constituency in-charges to strengthen grassroots structure ahead of Panchayat, Local Body Polls

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — In a move aimed at revitalizing its grassroots structure ahead of the upcoming Panchayat and Local Body elections, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has nominated several senior leaders as Constituency In-Charges across different districts of the Union Territory.

According to an order issued by PDP General Secretary Mohammad Khursheed Alam, the appointments have been made to enhance organizational coordination and strengthen the party’s presence at the constituency level.

In Anantnag district, Abdul Rehman Veeri has been appointed In-Charge for Anantnag East and Shangus, Dr. Mehboob Beg for Anantnag, Advocate Sheikh Javed for Anantnag West, Dr. Shabir Siddiqi for Pahalgam, Iltija Mufti for Srigufwara-Bijbehara, Chowdhary Talib for ST-Kukernag, and Mohd Ashraf Malik for Dooru.

In Kulgam district, Mohd Sartaj Madani has been assigned charge of Devsar, while Gulzar Ahmad Dar will oversee DH Pora.

For Pulwama district, Zahoor Ahmad Mir has been appointed for Pampore, Waheed-ur-Rehman Para for Pulwama, and Rafiq Ahmad Naik for Tral.

In Shopian district, Ajaz Ahmad Mir has been given charge of Zainapora-Wachi, while Raja Waheed will handle Shopian constituency.

In Ganderbal district, Bashir Ahmad Mir has been named In-Charge for Ganderbal and Jamaat Ali Shaheen for Kangan.

In Bandipora district, Nayeem Akhtar will oversee Bandipora, and Yasir Reshi will look after Sonawari.

For Rajouri district, Advocate Asif Iqbal Chowdary has been appointed as Constituency In-Charge.

The PDP said the move reflects the party leadership’s focus on empowering local units and ensuring better coordination at the grassroots level as part of its preparations for the forthcoming local elections. — (KIMS)
