SHOPIAN — Shopian Police, in collaboration with the district administration, on Wednesday organized an awareness program on COVID-19 in Shopian district, given the rise of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the drive, masks were distributed at various locations in town. The distribution drive was headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian Mushtaq Simnani and Additional Superintendent of Police Ifrooz Ahmad, along with other officers.
ADC Mushtaq Simnani also requested people to maintain social distance and make sure that when you come out of your house, you wear a mask so that you will not be infected.
The officers on the occasion said the aim of this mass drive is to educate people and give them an awareness of how to keep themselves and others safe from this viral infection (Covid-19).
ASP Ifrooz Ahmad said that we are educating the people and teaching them the use of masks and social distancing.
He further said that people should wear masks and make sure that there is a complete ban on gatherings and other things that are spreading these viruses. The drive was at Batapora chowk, main chowk, Gool Chakri, and other places.
The other officers, including station house officer Mudasir Ahmad, were also distributing masks among people.
The people of this district were appealed to follow the COVID-19 appropriate behavior (CAB) religiously to save themselves and others from infection.
