JAMMU — The locals as well as the Civil Society of Purmandal area of Samba observed a complete shutdown on Monday and staged a protest against authorities, alleging shifting of Government Degree College (GDC) that was sanctioned for Purmandal.
Locals and Civil Society members told that Government Degree College was sanctioned for Purmandal and should have been constructed at the location, but now the building is being shifted to another location, which is grave injustice with the people of this area.
Sitting on a protest dharna, the protesters said that Civil Society and every single citizen of this area are against this move, which will directly affect the life of their coming generations.
“We clearly ask the government authorities to keep the campus of Degree College at Purmandal only else more intense protest will be held in the area,” they said. — (KNO)
