Rainy weather in J&K till June 2: MeT

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — The Meteorological Department on Wednesday forecast rainy weather in Jammu and Kashmir till June 2, 2023.

Rain lashed the Union Territory during the last 24 hours, bringing down the normal temperature.

Today, light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning is expected at most places in Kashmir valley while isolated heavy rain with possibility of hailstorm is expected over few places of Jammu division, an official of the Meteorological Department said.

Widespread intermittent light to moderate rain, thunder and lightning with possibility of hailstorm and gusty winds is expected at few places in Jammu and Kashmir on June 1-2, 2023, he said.

Mainly dry weather is expected in Jammu and Kashmir but rain, thunderstorm at isolated places towards late afternoon can’t be ruled out from June 3-8, 2023, he said.

He also advised farmers to suspend all farm operations till June 2, 2023.

Meanwhile, The summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar recorded 11.6°C, Qazigund 10.2°C, Anantnag 10.0°C, Kupwara 11.2°C, Kokernag 9.1°C, Gulmarg 5.0°C and Pahalgam 7.8°C as the minimum temperature in Kashmir region on Wednesday.

The winter capital Jammu recorded 18.0°C, Katra 16.1°C, Batote 11.7°C, Bhaderwah 10.8°C, Banihal 10.5°C, Udhampur 16.9°C and Patnitop 11.6°C as the minimum temperature in Jammu region.

In Ladakh region, Leh recorded 4.8°C and Kargil 9.1°C as the minimum temperature. — (KIMS)
