SRINAGAR — Rain and snow lashed J&K during the last 24 hours as Srinagar received the season’s first snowfall on Friday. Kupwara district in Northern Kashmir and famous tourist destinations Gulmarg and Pahalgam also received snowfall.
“Scattered rain/snow at isolated places is likely to occur during the next 24 hours in J&K,” IANS quoted an official of the Meteorological Department as having said.
He said Srinagar recorded minus 0.3 degrees Celsius, Pahalgam minus 4.9 degrees Celsius and Gulmarg minus 5.5 degrees Celsius as the minimal temperature.
In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 7.3 degrees Celsius, Katra 6.5 degrees Celsius, Banihal 0.8 degrees Celsius, Bhaderwah 1.8 degrees Celsius and Batote minus 0.5 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
In Ladakh region he said, Kargil recorded minus 6.2 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 10.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.
