Schools reopen in Kashmir for Classes 9–12 after winter break; primary classes to resume March 2

SRINAGAR — Schools across Kashmir reopened on Monday for students of Classes 9 to 12 after remaining closed for over two months due to winter vacations, officials said.

They said classes from pre-primary to Class 8 will resume on March 2.

The government had announced the winter vacation schedule for both government and private schools in November last year.

According to the official order, winter vacations for primary classes began on November 26 last year and will end on February 28, 2026.

For Classes 1 to 8, vacations were scheduled from December 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026, while students of Classes 9 to 12, the vacations were scheduled from December 11, 2025 to February 22, 2026. — (PTI)
