SHOPIAN (KIMS) — District Police Shopian on the directions of Hon’ble Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge Shopian destroyed narcotic/psychotropic substances worth crores of rupees of all police stations of District Shopian at Kashmir Health Care Centre IGC Lassipora Pulwama.
Today, the order passed by Hon’ble Court of Principal District & Sessions Judge Shopian vide No. 278/PDJ/SPN Dated 25/07/2024 has been implemented by the District Drug Committee headed by Chairman committee Shri Waseem Mirza-KCS (Judge JMIC Court Shopian), Shri Anjum Bashir-KAS (Tehsildar Shopian), Shri Javeed Ahmad-JKPS (DySP Hqrs Shopian), Shri Khurshid Ahmad Ganie (District Pollution Officer Shopian) conducted the destruction of narcotic and Psychotropic substances seized in 148 different NDPS cases, weighing about 27 Quintals, 84 Kgs & 799 grams.
In the first instance seized material was physically checked/weighed and counted within Court premises. The entire process right from the Court Complex upto Kashmir Health Care, IGC Lassipora Pulwama (Incinerator) was duly videographed/Photographed and transported under proper security. The same seized material comprising of Bung, Poppy straw, Charas, Charas powder, Heroine, Codeine bottles, Brown Sugar, Ganja and Psychotropic (Tablets) were destroyed at Kashmir Health Care Center, IGC Lassipora Pulwama in presence of the committee members.
The destruction was carried out by incineration in a controlled manner as provided under rules to avoid any harm to environment. — (KIMS)
