SRINAGAR — Due to fresh snowfall in Kashmir valley, the universities have postponed all the examinations scheduled today, further land and air traffic has been badly hit.
The Kashmir University and Cluster University has postponed all the examinations scheduled to be held today due to inclement weather conditions.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has also been closed for vehicular movement for the third day due to continuous rains and snowfall and shooting stones at various places along with the highway.
Ramban-Gool Road was also closed near Kanga due to landslides. “BRO men are on job. Please avoid traveling on this road today,” the officials said.
Mughal road, which connects Shopian with Poonch-Rajouri districts, Srinagar-Leh highway, and Sinthan road, connecting Anantnag and Kishtwar districts, remained closed due to snow accumulation.
The train operation over Baramulla-Banihal section of Kashmir valley has also been suspended today due to snow accumulation.
Air traffic has also been hampered by the fresh snowfall. The Srinagar International Airport authorities informed: “The continued snowfall has reduced the visibility at the airport. The snowfall is likely to continue till 11 am. All operations shall be delayed.”
