Teenager found hanging at his residence in Shopian village

SHOPIAN — A teenager (name withheld) allegedly commits suicide by hanging himself at his residence in a village in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.

Sources said the teenager was found hanging with a ceiling fan by his family members at his home in Heff Shirmal village on Saturday morning.

The 14-year-old was student of Class 8th.

Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law in to the incident, sources said.

They said prima facie it seems a case of suicide even as investigation has been set into motion to ascertain the cause of the youth’s death.
