SAMBA (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police has solved a theft case in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday by arresting five accused persons and recovered stolen items worth rupees two lakhs approximately from their possession.
“A written complaint was lodged by Rakesh Kumar, son of Bishan Dass, resident of Deon Tehsil Bari Brahmana, serving in District Court Samba on 02-01-2025 at at Police Station Samba regarding theft of items including water taps and electrical wires from Judicial Quarters, District Court Complex Samba. Acting upon the complaint, a case FIR No. 02/2025 U/S 331(4)/ 305 BNS was registered at Police Station Samba and investigation was started,” police said in a statement.
“During the course of investigation, a Police team headed by SHO Police Station Samba under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Samba and under the overall supervision of SSP Samba after relentless efforts succeeded in arresting the five accused persons identified as Sunil Kumar, son of Hari Kumar, resident of Muradhawad (UP) A/P Shiv Nagar Vijaypur, Ganesh Kumar, son of Janak Raj, resident of Vijaypur, Mohd Maqbool, son of Mohd Ibrahim Das, resident of Bandipura A/P Vijaypur, Karan Lal, son of Mohan Lal, resident of Shiv Nagar Vijaypur and Vishavjeet Dass, son of Gurdass, resident of Gali Hukam Gate Amritsar A/P Shiv Nagar Vijaypur who upon sustained questioning confessed their involvement in the instant case,” the statement said.
“Further on the disclosure of said accused, stolen items were recovered from their possession,” the statement added.
