Three gamblers arrested in Srinagar; stake money, playing cards, cellphones seized

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested three gamblers in Srinagar district of Kashmir valley on Tuesday and recovered stake money, playing cards, and cellphones from their possession.

“Acting on reliable information regarding the gambling activities at a specific location in Bemina, a police party of Police Station Bemina raided the location and arrested three gamblers identified as Ubaid Ahmad Mir, son of Ab Razak Mir, Aamir Hameed Shooda, son of Ab Hameed, and Adil Ahmad Gashroo, son of Bashir Ahmad — all residents of Arampora Qamarwari,” police said in a statement.

“Stake money of ₹11,460/-, playing cards and 03 mobile phones have been recovered from their possession,” the statement said.

Accordingly, a case FIR No. 78/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bemina and investigation has been initiated. — (KIMS)
