Three Jaish militants slain in Budgam military operation

SRINAGAR — Three militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit were slain in an overnight military operation at Zalowa area of Chadoora in Budgam district in Central Kashmir.

Reports said, a Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) was launched by joint team of government forces including J&K Police, Indian Army and CRPF at Zalowa area in Chadoora on Thursday evening following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

In the operation, three militants were slain among them one has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir from Nowgam, Srinagar. Two others seem to be foreigners.

3 AK 56 rifles were recovered from encounter site, police said.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said all the three killed militants were affiliated with militant outfit JeM.

After killing of Waseem only one militant is left in Srinagar.

“All the 03 killed militants affiliated with terror outfit JeM. So far one identified as Waseem of Srinagar City. 3 AK 56 rifles recovered. After killing of Waseem only 1 militant is Srinagar resident,” IGP Kashmir said in a tweet.
