Three Pakistani militants, J&K Police Cop killed in Baramulla encounter

SRINAGAR — Three Pakistani militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit and a Jammu and Kashmir Police Cop were killed in an encounter that broke out between government forces and militants at Najibhat crossing in Kreeri area of Baramulla district in North Kashmir on Wednesday.

Reports said a joint team of government forces including Indian Army, J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Kreeri Baramulla following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

They said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

In the encounter, three Pakistani militants of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed and they have been identified as Ali Bhai, Hanief Bhai and Shah Wali.

One Jammu and Kashmir Police Cop identified as Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh was also killed in this encounter.

Incriminating materials, huge cache of arms and ammunition and IEDS including 03 AK-47 Rifles, 15 AK-47 Magazines, 344 AK-rounds, 05 Chinese grenades, 03 IEDs were recovered from the site of encounter. — (KIMS)
