JAMMU — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that three tourism projects have been completed in Ramgarh constituency at a cost of Rs 307.12 lakh under the Capex budget, while another project is currently under execution.
Replying to a question raised by BJP MLA Devinder Kumar Manyal, asked on his behalf by BJP MLA Surjeet Singh Slathia during Question Hour, the chief minister said the tourism development plan for 2026–27 has not yet been finalised.
However, he added that new projects for Ramgarh will be considered for 2026–27, subject to feasibility under established tourism norms, availability of funds and necessary approvals.
Replying to another question, Abdullah, who also holds the tourism portfolio, said Rs 123.41 lakh was sanctioned under Capex budget for development and beautification of Sidh Goria Temple in Samba district.
He said the works included beautification of the surrounding area, construction of parking facilities and toilet blocks, development of a pond, installation of high-mast lights and allied works, adding that the project has been physically completed.
The chief minister further informed that Rs 100 lakh was sanctioned for development of Baba Chamlyal Shrine, where works such as flooring, pathways, lighting and allied infrastructure have also been completed.
He said the department promotes the annual mela at Sidh Goria Temple and Baba Chamlyal Shrine through flex hoardings, newspaper advertisements and booklets to boost religious tourism.
Regarding other religious sites including Ganga Mata Temple, Banu Temple and Ram Temple, Abdullah said their development would be taken up in future, subject to feasibility, availability of funds and required approvals. — (PTI)
