Top LeT commander Saleem Parrey among two militants slain in Srinagar military operations

SRINAGAR — A top LeT militant Saleem Parrey was among two militants slain in two different military operations at Shalimar area of Srinagar on Monday.

Earlier, a joint team of government forces including J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) in the Shalimar area following the inputs aboit presence of militants in the area.

In the operations, two militants were slain and they have been identified as Lashkar-i-Toiba (LeT) top commander Saleem Parrey from Hajin Bandipora and Hafiz @ Hamza from Pakistan.

Incriminating material including arms and ammunition were recovered from both encounter sites.

Meanwhile police in a statement said, Saleem was ‘A’ categorized militant, active since 2016 and was wanted by law in several terror crime cases. He was involved in several civilian killings, adding, Hamza was involved in several terror crimes including recent killing of two policemen at Gulshan Chowk.
