Two hybrid militants arrested for attacking tourist couple in Anantnag, says police

ANANTNAG (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday said that they have solved the recent attack on tourist couple by arresting two hybrid militants in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

In a press release, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said, “Security forces, including the police, Army’s 3 RR, and CRPF, have solved the Pahalgam militant attack case by arresting two hybrid militants Waseem Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Gani Shah, resident of Nambal Mattan, and Adnan Ahmad Beigh, son of Ghulam Mohd Beigh, resident of SK Colony, Anantnag.”

The statement said that a pistol with a magazine and 8 rounds, one grenade, and 120 AK rounds were recovered from their possession.

On May 18, a tourist couple from Jaipur, Rajasthan, identified as Farha and her husband Tabrez, were injured in a militant attack in the Yannar area of Pahalgam in Anantnag district.

They were taken to the hospital for treatment. — (KIMS)
