Two IED’s detected, diffused in Kulgam village, says Police

SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday claimed to have averted a major tragedy by detecting and diffusing two Improvised Explosive Devices (IED)’s at Frisal village in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.

Police said that two IED’s, one timer and other sticky, planted by militants were detected and subsequently diffused by joint team of forces including Kulgam Police and Army’s 1 RR at Frisal village in Kulgam district.

They said that the area has been cordoned off and searches are underway in the area.

“Kulgam Police along with 1 RR Army averted a Major tragedy by detecting & subsequently diffusing 02 IEDs (01 Timer & other Sticky) planted by militants in Frisal area of Kulgam District.Area has been cordoned off and searches going on Further details shall follow,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet. — (KIMS)
