Two LeT OGWs arrested in Kulgam; arms, ammunition recovered

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — At least two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant outfit were arrested in Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Thursday along with arms and ammunition.

“During the investigation of case vide FIR Number 262/2024 registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Qazigund, two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) namely Altaf Ahmad Lone, Son of Abdul Ahad Lone of Kachoora Zadoora and Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, Son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Nipora, Mirbazar were apprehended at Ghulab Bagh Qazigund,” police said in a statement.

“Arms and ammunition including 02 AK 56 Rifles, 04 AK Series Magazines and 79 Live Cartridges of AK Series were recovered from their possession,” the statement said.

“The accused were acting on the directions of Pakistani handler Hamza Bhai and were in process of carrying terror activities in the area,” the statement added.
