SRINAGAR — Two Pakistani militants were killed in an encounter between government forces and militants at Beshambar Nagar area of Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital. Srinagar on Sunday.
Reports said a joint team of government forces including J&K Police and CRPF had launched Cordon-and-Search-Operation (CASO) at Beshamber Nagar following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
In the encounter two Pakistani militants were killed and and they have been identified as Mohammad Bhai @ Abu Qasim @ Mir Shoaib @ Mudassir and Abu Arsalan @ Khalid @ Aadil.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition was recovered from encounter site.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said. “Two Pakistani militants who were involved in recent attack on CRPF Personnel were killed in Srinagar encounter”.
IGP while terming the killing of two Pakistani militants a big success said, “Today’s encounter in Srinagar is one of the best example of how an investigation of terror-crime, in which we lost one CRPF Personnel on 4/4/2022, led to anti-terror encounter”. — (KIMS)
