JAMMU — Two men from West Bengal were detained early Sunday after one of them was spotted moving around suspiciously outside the main gate of the Indian Air Force’s technical airport in Jammu’s Satwari area, reported Times of India.
According to airport authorities, the suspect was found running towards the airport area through a stream that enters the IAF camp, Jammu SSP Chandan Kohli said.
“The trespasser was apprehended by airport security personnel around 4.10am and handed over to Satwari Police for questioning,” SSP Kohli said.
“During interrogation, the suspect was identified as Kavi Raj Chethri from Bengal’s Alipurduar district. He had travelled from Bengal to Jammu on Friday along with one Subhash Darji, also from Alipurduar. The duo is being questioned,” said the SSP.
A case was registered in this regard under IPC Section 447 and an investigation was launched.
