Violence in Kashmir not an answer, killings must stop: Dr Rizwan

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Dr Rizwan Rumi, executive member South Asian Center for Peace Democracy and Development has strongly condemned the attack in Sopore in which four people lost their lives.

Dr Rizwan while quoting to Kashmir Independent Media Service – KIMS said, “Violence in Kashmir is not an answer, killings must stop”.

He further said that establishing truth is hard when we live in a society colored by the deceptions of violence. Our society has swallowed the bloody belief that violence solves problems.

We wrap violence in acceptability and even admiration, he added.

Dr Rizwan while quoting Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “Through violence you may murder a murderer, but you can’t murder murder. Through violence you may murder a liar, but you can’t establish truth. Through violence you may murder a hater, but you can’t murder hate. Darkness cannot put out darkness. Only light can do that.”

Pertinently, on Saturday four persons including two cops were killed and three others were injured after suspected militants attacked forces party in North Kashmir’s Sopore town. — (KIMS)
