SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has said the weather is likely to get better by today afternoon, while there are chances of moderate to heavy snow in higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir from January 3 to 6.
An official said that today there will be generally cloudy with intermittent light snow over south Kashmir and Chenab valley, while light rains at few plains of Jammu region is expected till today late afternoon/evening.
He said from December 29 to 30 the weather conditions will likely be dry, while from January 1 to 2 there is a possibility of cloudy with light snow at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir.
The official continued that from January 3 to 6 the weather conditions will be likely cloudy with light to moderate snow at many places of Kashmir division, and scattered places of Jammu division.
The cold wave at isolated places during December 30 and 31 will likely continue, he said.
He said in view of snowfall, sub-freezing temperature and icy conditions over roads, the tourists, travelers and transporters are advised to follow traffic advisories from administration and traffic department.
