ANANTNAG, Sheikh Nadeem (KIMS) — A 10th Muharram procession was held peacefully in the Chittergul area of Anantnag district to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his 72 companions in the Battle of Karbala.
A large number of mourners participated in the procession, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
Participants observed traditional mourning rituals and remembered the values of truth, justice, patience and sacrifice symbolised by the martyrs of Karbala.
The district administration made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the procession, including security, traffic management, medical facilities and other essential services.
On the occasion, mourners and local residents donated 106 pints of blood at blood donation camps organised alongside the procession, highlighting the spirit of humanitarian service associated with the observance. — (KIMS)
