SRINAGAR — The government of Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism department announced on Saturday that 300 locations have been chosen to promote film tourism in the UT this year, while the G-20 will be a significant international event and a fantastic chance for J&K.
According to Commissioner Secretary of Tourism Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, more than 200 movies were filmed in J&K last year.
He was speaking to media on the sidelines of the inauguration of the recently released Tariq Bhat film “Welcome To Kashmir” at the Inox cinema in Srinagar.
According to news agency KNO, Shah stated, “This year, our focus is to promote film tourism and for that, we have kept 300 destinations on the table for film producers and directors to choose any place for shooting.”
Shah stated that this year, film tourism would be heavily pushed so that many unexplored locations are discovered. The UT has numerous locations that are superior to European locations, he said.
In response to a question on the G-20 event, the Commissioner of Tourism stated that J&K would host the third working group meeting of the G-20 tourism group, which is a “major international event.”
“This is a fantastic chance for J&K to highlight its beauty. We will be able to promote film tourism in J&K through the summit, he said.
