50 companies of additional security forces deployed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR — Central Government has sent additional security forces to Jammu and Kashmir in view of the increasing militant related activities. New bunkers are being put on the ground to cut down on the free movement of militants.

According to the report of NDTV, 50 companies of additional paramilitary forces are being inducted to strengthen the security apparatus in the Valley, especially in Srinagar, in the wake of civilian killings.

Security bunkers are making a comeback on the city streets and paramilitary personnel are being deployed after nearly eight years of civilian killings by militants in Kashmir over the past two weeks.

Security bunkers operated by the Central Armed Paramilitary Forces (CAPFs) are being set up in several areas of Srinagar, where they were removed between 2011 and 2014 after the overall improvement in the security situation in Kashmir.
