Rain, snow at isolated places in Kashmir, dry weather in Jammu: MeT

SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department on Sunday forecast rain and snow at isolated places in Kashmir valley while weather is expected to remain dry in Jammu division during the next 24 hours.

The weather was dry in the Union Territory during the last 24 hours.

An official of the Meteorological Department said, weather would be dry in Jammu division with rain/snow at isolated places in the Valley during next 24 hours.

He said, Srinagar recorded 1.8 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam and Gulmarg recorded minus 5.4 degrees Celsius and minus 6.4 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Jammu region he said, Jammu recorded 8.3 degrees Celsius, Katra 9.1 degrees Celsius, Batote 3.8 degrees Celsius, Banihal and Bhaderwah recorded 2.2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

In Ladakh region he said, Drass recorded minus 21.5 degrees Celsius, Kargil recorded minus 15.4 degrees Celsius and Leh recorded minus 10.8 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Kashmir is currently under 20-day-long period of ‘Chilai Khurd’. It will be followed by 10-day-long ‘Chillai Bache’. — (KIMS)
