Sunil Dimple rejects BJP’s “One Nation, One Poll” Proposal, urges Government leaders to reconsider

JAMMU [Farhan Kitab] (KIMS) — Sunil Dimple, a prominent political figure and community advocate, has publicly rejected the recent decision by the Union Cabinet to advance the “One Nation, One Poll” initiative.

This proposal, which aims to synchronize elections across the country, is on track to be deliberated and potentially passed in the upcoming session of Parliament.

Dimple has expressed serious concerns regarding the implications of this legislation for democratic processes and the unique political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.

He believes that the introduction of simultaneous elections could undermine local issues and regional representation, creating a homogenous political environment that diminishes the voices of diverse communities.

In a heartfelt appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Dimple implored them to reconsider the consequences of this bill before it is potentially enacted.

“Democracy thrives on diversity and representation. We must ensure that every voice is heard and every issue relevant to our local populace is addressed,” Dimple emphasized.

Dimple has urged community members and leaders throughout the region to rally against what he perceives as an ill-advised initiative that could lead to the marginalization of regional priorities and needs.

He encourages citizens to engage in dialogue, voice their opposition, and advocate for an electoral process that respects the intricacies of local governance.

As discussions unfold in Parliament, Dimple remains committed to ensuring that Jammu and Kashmir retains its unique representative integrity and that democratic values are upheld across the nation. — (KIMS)
