NIT Pulwama: A vision for Educational and Economic Growth in South Kashmir, says NC leader

PULWAMA (KIMS) — The proposed National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Pulwama is envisioned as a transformative project aimed at fostering education, research, and innovation in South Kashmir.

National Conference (NC) leader Assad ullah Elahi has emphasized the establishment of NIT Pulwama in Newa, highlighting its strategic importance in enhancing educational infrastructure and creating employment opportunities in the district.

Elahi stated that setting up the NIT in Pulwama will not only attract students from across the country but also elevate the district’s profile as an educational hub.

He added that the institute could significantly contribute to skill development, technological advancements, and overall socio-economic progress in the area.

The demand for its establishment in Newa stems from its accessibility and central location, making it an ideal site for a project of this scale.

The region already has a well-connected road network and sufficient land for the development of a modern educational campus, further reinforcing its suitability.

Elahi assured that the National Conference is committed to advocating for initiatives that prioritize the aspirations and needs of the youth in Kashmir.

He argued that Newa’s geographic position offers easy accessibility to students and faculty from Pulwama and neighboring districts such as Shopian, Anantnag, and Budgam, solidifying its strategic importance for hosting the NIT. — (KIMS)
