SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Two militants were killed in an encounter between security forces militants in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, officials said.
The operation, codenamed Trashi-I, was launched following credible intelligence inputs from multiple agencies including Jammu and Kashmir Police, Intelligence Bureau (IB) and other sources regarding the presence of militants in the area.
Officials said, troops of CIF Delta, White Knight Corps, along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force, established contact with the militants and re-engaged them at around 11 am in difficult terrain in Kishtwar.
During the operation, two militants were killed. War-like stores, including two AK-47 rifles, were also recovered from the operation site.
