Mirwaiz condemns killing of Iran supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei, calls for shutdown on Monday

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Sunday expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the killing of Iran supreme leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei by the United States and Israel and said the development has shaken the Muslim world.

In a post on X, the Mirwaiz said the people of Jammu and Kashmir collectively condemn this brutality and the ongoing aggression against Iran. He also condemned the massacre of innocent girl students in Minab.

Stating that it was an hour of immense sorrow, he said the hearts of the people of J&K beat with the resilient people of Iran. He prayed that Allah grants strength to the oppressed, elevates the martyrs and brings swift justice to those responsible for this.

Calling it a moment for the Ummah to rise above divisions and stand united, Mirwaiz urged people to register their protest and solidarity against the killing and continued aggression in the region.

Meanwhile, the Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU) has called for a complete strike on Monday. Mirwaiz urged to the people to observe the shutdown with unity, dignity and complete peacefulness. — (KIMS)
