SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Vinai Kumar Saxena, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi was on Thursday appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, replacing Kavinder Gupta, who resigned from the post in the evening.
Gupta stepped down as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh after holding the office for eight months.
Just hours before tendering his resignation, he had inaugurated the Automated Driving Test Centre (ADTC) and Automated Testing Station (ATS) at Phyang in Leh.
Before being appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Gupta had served as the Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP–PDP coalition government in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir in 2018. He also served as the Speaker of the J&K Legislative Assembly in 2015.
Following his resignation, Gupta has been appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh. — (KIMS)
